She has since followed these with The Lingering (2018) – a ghostly psychological thriller set in the fens, and Violet (2019) – a Highsmithesque noir set on the Trans-Siberian Express. She is the author of three mystery/noir/psychological novels set in the fictional Scottish town of Banktoun: Black Wood (2015), Willow Walk (2016) and The Damselfly (2017) and the festive serial killer thriller, The Deaths of December (2017). She has worked as a statistician in the pharmaceutical industry for over twenty years, but it was on a six-month round-the- world-trip that she took with her husband in 2006 that she rediscovered her passion for writing.
